The IPTICAR SPARK Summer School takes place from 19 to 23 July in Oran, bringing together around one hundred participants from across Algeria. Designed as an intensive space for training, collaboration, and project development, it aims to support higher education institutions in developing structured, ambitious, and high-impact international initiatives.
Over five days, participants work in teams on several priority themes for the future of Algerian higher education:
Artificial intelligence and digital transformation
Entrepreneurship and innovation
Employability and the professionalisation of academic pathways
Tourism and regional attractiveness
Addressing local and regional needs
Internationalisation and university cooperation
SPARK aims to help participants turn an initial idea into a structured project. Teams receive guidance on identifying needs, defining objectives, designing activities, allocating roles among partners, determining expected results, and maximising project impact.
Particular attention is given to the main European calls that can support these initiatives, including:
Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE)
Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (CBVET)
Jean Monnet Actions
Participants gain a better understanding of Erasmus+ programme requirements, identify the calls best suited to their ideas, and begin building strong consortia with Algerian and international partners.
Beyond training, IPTICAR SPARK is designed to create a genuine community of project developers. The Summer School encourages the sharing of experiences, networking among institutions, the pooling of expertise, and the development of sustainable partnerships.
SPARK is therefore a key opportunity to stimulate innovation, strengthen team capacities, accelerate the development of European projects, and foster initiatives that respond directly to the needs of students, institutions, and local and regional communities.
