Call for proposal HORIZON EUROPE
IPTICAR is a twinning project funded by the European Union. It supports research and innovation in Algeria and helps researchers take part in European programmes.
It was set up to modernise Algeria's national research and innovation system by sharing expertise and working more closely with European partners.
It is run with Algeria's MESRS and a European consortium: Expertise France, Fondazione PIN (Italy) and Spider (Sweden).

A seminar dedicated to synergies and coordination actions for internationalization was held in Algiers on 8 and 9 September 2026. This activity is part of Component 4 of the project, which aims to increase the presence and active participation of Algerian institutions in international partnerships.

The National Quality Assurance Framework for Higher Education and Scientific Research Institutions (RNAQ-ESRS) supports Algerian institutions in their self-evaluation, management and continuous improvement processes. Its 2023 version places particular emphasis on governance, innovation, internationalisation and the social responsibility of higher education institutions.

SPARK Week held in Oran brought together participants from 50 Algerian higher education institutions around a shared objective: to transform the needs and opportunities of the tourism sector into structured, innovative and impactful European cooperation projects.
