European expertise at the service of innovation
The workshop was inaugurated by Samira Chader (MESRS) and Stefano Fabiani, Twinning Resident Advisor (CRJ) for the IPTICAR project. The training was led by two high-level international experts:
Lola Bonnet-Pol, Capacity building project manager at the IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement, France).
Filiberto Altobelli, Senior Researcher at CREA (Council for Agricultural Research and Analysis of Agrarian Economics, Italy).
Three days of practical immersion (Learning by doing)
The objective of this session was to transform theory into practice through a real simulation of project assembly.
Day 1 : Understanding the Horizon Europe ecosystem. Participants explored the pillars of the programme, the Mediterranean Initiative and the eligibility criteria, while learning how to build an effective partnership strategy.
Day 2 : From idea to action plan. This day was devoted to technical structuring: definition of SMART objectives, identification of expected impacts for beneficiaries and development of "Work Packages".
Day 3 : Finalization and Pitch. The experts guided the participants on the crucial aspects of the budget, as well as on cross-cutting themes such as ethics, gender equality and Open Science. The workshop ended with a presentation of the projects before a jury, simulating the real conditions of evaluation of the European Commission.
A strategic challenge for Algeria-EU cooperation
By facilitating access to funding opportunities under Horizon Europe (which has a total budget of €95.5 billion), this workshop directly contributes to integrating Algerian research into the European Research Area. The IPTICAR project thus helps address global challenges such as climate change and the digital transition.
